Yanway Cottage is characterful cottage located in the stunning area of Trout beck, which can be found between Bowness and Ambleside. Trout beck is a favourite with walkers due to its beautiful scenery and varied walks it has to offer. Trout beck is a conservation area, and the majority of cottages haven’t changed in appearance since the 1500’s. It is a very special part of the lakes, and due to the lack of traffic it is also one of the most tranquil.
The famous Mortal Man pub is located in Trout beck and serves excellent food, also the National Trust house, Townsend House can be found in Trout beck, and is well worth a visit
Yanway Cottage is a beautiful quaint cottage that is located on a bridle path, and has recently been refurbished to a very high standard.

You enter Yanway through a small hallway with Westmoreland slate floor, which then leads into a spacious lounge. The lounge has the original cottage windows, which adds character; you will also find an authentic wood burner with slate hearth. The lounge is decorated in cottage florals, but with a contemporary feel, and has very good quality furniture. From the lounge is a kitchen diner with all modern conveniences, which include, fridge freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, and dishwasher.
There is seating for 4 people comfortably, and there is the advantage of having a large picture window, which overlooks the entrance to the spacious garden, which is opposite the cottage across the small bridle path. There is a door from the kitchen where there is a space for private parking.
Upstairs you will find the master bedroom, which has stunning views of the valley to wake up to in the mornings. The bedroom is decorated in jade coloured florals with Egyptian cotton bedding, and duck down duvet and pillows for that extra luxury feel.
The second bedroom, although quite small, is beautifully decorated, and has a large window with views of the surrounding cottages and gardens. There is a double bed in this room; however, we do recommend that this room be for children only.
The bathroom is between both bedrooms, and is tiled throughout with beautiful Italian tiles. It has a bath with overhead shower, basin with vanity unit and toilet. There is also under floor heating for that extra cosiness.
Yanway cottage is a truly romantic hideaway, and has a special feel when you stay there, and the Mortal Man pub is only a 10-minute walk away from the cottage further down the bridle path. As there is less traffic in Trout beck it is ideal for children, and there are very moderate walks, which are ideal for children, and plenty of wildlife to discover along the way.
